Solutions Engineer
Overview
This position reports to the growth leader of the company and works in close collaboration with the Executive Team. The Solutions Engineer will be a major player in driving the company’s solutions and therefore is critical in creating consistent revenue growth; they will be a key outward-facing member and will attend new business meetings, in conjunction with BD and/or Executive members, with customers and other stakeholders serving as NCC’s growth team Subject Matter Expert (SME). The job requires a strong work ethic, cerebral prowess, and a general learner who enjoys continuously acquiring skills and knowledge. A superior candidate will also be fiercely competitive and financially driven. The right candidate will possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Travel may be required (estimated no more than 20% non-local). The solutions engineer will run multiple simultaneous opportunities in different phases of sale and will work both independently as well as with subs and internal technical staff to create winning solutions. The Solutions Engineer will be able to clearly draft and provide final edits of technical solutions for proposal efforts.
Job Duties:
  • Brings extensive knowledge across multiple technology domains with the ability to create and clearly communicate innovative customer solutions
  • Possesses strong inter-personal talent to meet in-person or virtually with prospective customers to lead the articulation of technical solutions and concepts for new business opportunities
  • Combines research, open-source data, and any customer research or information ascertained during meetings to create winning strategies and solutions that meet customer requirements AND needs
  • Establishes the frameworks by which customer solutions will be provided
  • Able to leverage overall technology knowledge and experience to sell and create proposals in new and more advanced areas (e.g. Health IT, Cybersecurity, cloud technologies, data analytics)
  • Builds and maintains both industry and federal customer relationships
  • Creates and conducts interviews, sales meetings, pitches, oral presentations, videoconferences and other general sales and marketing collateral focused on unique technology solutions
  • Strategizes and recommends methods by which the company can create clear discriminating value to new potential clients through both general marketing and specific proposal work
  • Understands technical specifications and requirements while supporting the creation of organizational designs and management structures that both drive cost efficiencies as well as high-quality delivery
  • Keeps up to date on advancements in technology and technology management in order to find cost-effective solutions for customer prospects
  • Able to support multiple methods of communicating information to clients including graphical depicts of solutions and ideas as well as clear high-level and detailed descriptions of solutions
  • Analyzes current contracts and technologies to understand where the company can most successfully leverage its past successes to drive new solutions and revenue
  • Continues to grow personal knowledge of technology on your own time; seeking a candidate that embraces and enjoys advancing their personal and professional knowledge
Qualifications:
  • Degrees/advance degrees in computer related fields preferred
  • Clear track record with wide range of technologies and ability to create solutions
  • Demonstrable education and certifications in technology areas
  • Federal government experience NOT required
  • Able to think and communicate clearly visually, orally, and in writing
  • Strong skills in deriving questions and listening
  • Veterans preferred, especially those with technology-based occupational specialties; not required
